Abstract: The development process of high alloy steel certified reference materials (CRMs) 2Cr13Mn9Ni4 for spectral analysis was introduced, including the use of proper smelting and forging techniques, the homogeneity test of samples from different positions, the confirmation of certified values and expanded uncertainties of C, Si, Mn, P, S, Cr and Ni, the investigation of linearity, uniformity and comparison of congeneric certified reference materials (CRMs) at home and abroad. The results showed that the homogeneity of developed certified reference materials (CRMs) for spectral analysis was excellent with accurate certified values and good gradient distribution. The linearity of characterization elements was good, which could cover the content range in high alloy steel 2Cr13Mn9Ni4. The developed certified reference materials (CRMs) was applicable for the component analysis of other similar high alloy steels.
