Abstract: The analysis method of chemical components in flue gas desulfurization gypsum powder produced in coal-fired power plant was introduced. According to the characteristics of flue gas desulfurization gypsum powder, the sample was semi-quantitatively analyzed by X-ray energy dispersive spectrum(EDS) instrument. The sample was firstly washed by water to remove 50 % main components. Then, the water-insoluble materials were qualitatively analyzed by X-ray diffraction (XRD) instrument. On the basis of qualitative and semi-quantitative analytical results, the quantitative analysis of elements and components were conducted by inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrum (ICP-AES), ion chromatography (IC) and gravimetric method. The comprehensive analysis results showed that the flue gas desulfurization gypsum powder consisted of 82.2% CaSO4·0.5H2O, 3.0% CaCO3, 1.0% CaMg(CO3)2, 11.1% SiO2, 1.4% Al2SiO5 and 1.3% Fe2O3.
