Abstract:A novel extracting agent called N-benzothiazolyl normal-butyl imide (HY) was synthetized using 2-amino benzothiazole and butyryl chloride as materials. The composition and structure of product were characterized by elementary analysis, infrared spectrum and nuclear magnetic resonance. The results indicated that HY formed HgY2 chelate with Hg2+ by N in -NH group and O in carbonyl group. The effect of HY concentration, pH, temperature and common cations and anions in water on the extraction of Hg2+ was investigated. In the extraction of 1.0 mmol/L Hg2+ with this extracting agent under selected optimal conditions, 500 mmol/L of NO3-; 400 mmol/L of SO42-; 50 mmol/L of Ni2+, Zn2+ and Cd2+; 40 mmol/L of Cu2+、Pd2+; 20 mmol/L of Fe3+ and 10 mmol/L of PO43- did not interfere with the extraction of Hg2+ by HY. Based on the relationship between distribution ratio and temperature, the value of ΔH0 of this extraction reaction was obtained, indicating that this reaction was endothermic reaction.
