Determination of trace cobalt(Ⅱ) in waste waters by microemulsion-luminol-hydrogen peroxide-cobalt(Ⅱ)chemiluminescence method

Abstract:Based on the stabilization, sensitization and solubilization effect of microemulsion, the determination of cobalt (Ⅱ) by chemiluminesence method with microemulsion-luminol-hydrogen peroxide-Co (Ⅱ) system was established. This method could be used to effectively determine Co(Ⅱ) in the range of 1×10-9-1×10-6 mg/mL with detection limit of 9.15×10-10 mg/mL. The method has been applied to the determination of trace cobalt (Ⅱ) in pharmaceutical waste water samples. The results were consistent with those obtained by flame atomic absorption spectrometry, and the relative standard deviations (RSD, n=5) was 1.0 %-2.5 %.
