Abstract:The determination method of sulfate (SO42-) in nano-titanium dioxide (TiO2) by ion chromatography had been established. The detection conditions of sample were optimized by investigating the effect of pretreatment conditions (the grinding, placing, heating and ultrasonic of nano-titanium dioxide), dissolution medium and sampling amount on determination. The ion chromatography conditions were as follows: Metrosep A SUPP5 (250 cm) anion exchange column, Na2CO3/NaHCO3 solution as leacheate, flow rate of 1 mL/min, MSM suppressor and conductivity detector. The results showed that the satisfactory results were obtained when 0.01g of nano-titanium dioxide was statically extracted with 10 g/L EDTA solution and buffer solution (pH=10) at room temperature, and then detected after inhibitory separation with Na2CO3/NaHCO3 solution. The recoveries of standard addition were 93 %-95 %, and the relative standard deviation (RSD, n=8) of determination results was less than 3 %.
