Abstract:Based on the matrix composition characteristic of copper matte and copper bearing sintered materials, a determination method of copper by iodometry was proposed in this study. The influence of interference elements and their elimination,including iron, sulfur and silicon on the analysis of copper were discussed. Moreover, the titratable acidity, medium, speed and hydrochloric acid concentration were investigated, which provided basis for further discussing the reliability of testing method. It was proved that the relative standard deviation (RSD) of this method was smaller than 1 %, and the absolute error of determination results in different laboratories was smaller than 0.3 %. This method could well solve the difficulty for the determination of copper content in copper matte and copper bearing sintered materials.
