Abstract:A method for the simultaneous determination of oxygen and nitrogen in NdFeB alloy by inert gas fusion impulse heating method is proposed The issues about the preparation of sample, the ratio of sample weight to nickel flux weight, the selection of analysis power and the calibration curves of oxygen and nitrogen are discussedOxygen and nitrogen in analytical samples are determined Values of RSDs (n=7) for oxygen and nitrogen are smaller than 1.2% and 2.5% respectively The analytical results of oxygen and nitrogen obtained by the proposed method are in good agreement with those by the calibration curves established with the different certified reference materials of oxygen and nitrogen The analytical results of nitrogen obtained by the proposed method are consistent with those by chemical analysis method It has been used to monitor oxygen and nitrogen content in the production process of NdFeB alloy
