Abstract:The content of silicon inclusions in steel was analyzed by original position statistic distribution analysis technique. The relationship between the signals of abnormal sparks and the content of silicon inclusions was investigated by combining with physical and chemical phase analysis, scanning electronic microscopy and energy spectrum analysis in this paper. The quantitative parameters for the analysis of silicon inclusions were introduced,and a mathematical model of original position statistic distribution analysis has been developed. The composition of silicon inclusions was determined by the combining technique of spectrum channel, and the mathematical model was applied to analyze the content of silicon inclusions in some medium and low alloyed steels with different chemical compositions The results had good coincidence with the value obtained by chemical methods and scanning electron microscopy
