Abstract:The electroanalysis of Cr(Ⅵ) on non-noble metal based electrodes usually suffer backs of lower sensitivities for their inferior interface affinities compared to noble metal ones. Therefore, further researches are needed for higher cost-effectivity in the large-scale applications. Herein, the simple fabrication of a reticulated film of polyviologen (PV) modified glassy carbon electrode (GCE) via electropolymerization of 1,3,5-tribromo-tris(4-cyanopyridine-1-methylene)-benzene (TCB) for linear stripping voltammetry (LSV) analysis of Cr(Ⅵ) was reported. The PV film are electroactive and the pyridinium cations are highly affinitive to hypervalent anions of Cr(Ⅵ), thus PV/GCE offers superior performance than gold modified electrodes. The effects of the electropolymerization methods and the deposition time on the determination of Cr(Ⅵ) were investigated. Under the optimal conditions, high performance including sensitivity value of 0.111 2 μA/(μmol/L), limit of detection value of 0.25 μmol/L (S/N=3), wide linear detection range, good stability, reproducibility and anti-interferences were obtained on PV/GCE. The PV/GCE was applied for Cr(Ⅵ) determination in real chromium slag samples with satisfied results.
