Abstract:The appearance of three imported cobalt-containing materials were observed, including the shape, particle size, color, hand feeling and odor, etc. Moreover, combining the analytical tools of X-ray diffraction spectroscopy (XRD), ultra-deep field microscopy and X-ray fluorescence spectroscopy (XRF), the related information of testing samples were obtained, including the elemental composition, physical composition, microscopic morphology, and the acidity and alkalinity of the leaching solution. By searching the relevant literatures and comparing with the sample information, the attribute of sample was conformed. The method for attribute identification was obtained. The experimental results showed that three cobalt-containing materials were sulfur-copper-cobalt ore, cobalt pyrometallurgical slag and wet smelting cobalt leaching slag. The latter two samples were solid wastes which were currently banned from import in China.
