Research on sampling methods of bulk flotation rare earth concentrates

Abstract:The sampling method for bulk flotation rare earth concentrates was discussed. The quality fluctuation tests and sampling precision tests of bulk flotation rare earth concentrates were conducted using the total amount of rare earth oxides as the characteristic value. The standard deviation between the samples was calculated. The standard deviation of characteristic value between the samples was in range of 1.138%-1.550%. The type of quality fluctuation was determined according to the estimated value of standard deviation above. In other words, it belonged to the type Small of quality fluctuation when the standard deviation of total amount of rare earth oxides was σW≤1.3%, and type Middle when 1.3%<σW<1.5%, and type Large when σW≥1.5%. Moreover, the minimum number of samples under expected precision was also provided.
