Abstract:The chemical phase analysis of silver is mainly to analyze the content of silver in various carrier minerals. The previous studies on the chemical phase analysis of silver were mainly focused on lead-zinc ores, while there were few reports on the chemical phase analysis of silver in silver-manganese ore. The chemical phases of silver in Lancang silver-manganese ore of Yunnan Province were analyzed. It was found that the silver in this ore mainly contained six phases, including the silver in manganese carbonate, the silver combined with manganese, the native silver, the silver sulfide, the silver in iron oxides and the silver in silicates. The silver in manganese carbonate was leached with acetic acid solution. The silver combined with manganese was leached with sulfurous acid solution. The metallic silver was leached with ferric nitrate solution. The silver sulfide was leached with thiourea-sulfuric acid solution. The silver in sulfide was leached with nitric acid solution. Finally, the silver in silicates was determined in residue. This ore was determined for 6 times. The content of silver in each phase was obtained. The analytical results were stable and the relative standard deviations (RSDs) were all less than 10%, which could meet the error requirements of phase analysis. Moreover, the sum of silver content in each phase was equal to the total silver, indicating that the analysis of each phase was correct.
