Abstract:Total 51 literatures about the analysis of copper ore (including copper concentrate) by X-ray fluorescence spectrometry (XRF) were collected, including 21 literatures about analysis in the field and 30 literatures about laboratory analysis. Among the literatures about laboratory analysis, 12 of them were involved in fusion sample preparation, 15 of them were involved pressed powder pellet sample preparation and 3 of them were involved in other methods. The key points of literatures were introduced in a list, wherein the multi-element analysis methods were emphasized. Some other issues such as the technical conditions, the selection of sample preparation method, the certified reference material and standard method of XRF were also discussed. The results indicated that XRF had become one of most powerful technologies for the analysis of major, minor and trace elements in copper ore. With the increasing requirements of environment, XRF with direct pressed powder pellet sample preparation would have broader development prospect. Total 89 references were cited.
