Abstract:The carbon-sulfur analyzer usually adopts standard samples to establish the calibration curve for the direct determination of carbon and sulfur contents in unknown samples. Long-term monitoring and use of instrument and calibration curves are achieved by the real-time verification of standard samples or control samples. Therefore, it is very necessary to obtain the long-term stability time limit (TMAX) of the instrument. Generally, the long-term stability test is to monitor the accuracy of measurement results, including the precision and trueness. The long-term stability test of carbon-sulfur analyzer in the laboratory was designed. Based on the repeatability, within-laboratory reproducibility precision data and χ2 statistic in relevant standards, the precision and trueness of each period, repeatability of periods, overall precision among periods and trueness of grand mean of measurement data were tested. The results showed that the upper limit of long-term stability time was 7h for the carbon-sulfur analyzer. The correction of instrument was not required during this time, saving the time and cost.
