Abstract:The spark discharge atomic emission spectrometry is widely used in the routine inspection of strip surfacing deposited metal in actual production process. Due to the differences of factors such as manufacturing technique and structure, the analysis results usually have errors when the standard samples are used as control samples. The determination of seven elements (including carbon, silicon, manganese, sulfur, phosphorus, chromium and nickel) in strip surfacing deposited metal by spark discharge atomic emission spectrometry was investigated. The flush time, pre-combustion time and integral time in the light source parameters were optimized. The following experimental conditions were finally selected: the flush time was 5s, the pre-combustion time was 6s and the integral time was 7s. The influence of two type standardization methods (i.e., using standard sample and self-made control sample) on the analysis results was discussed. It was found that the analysis results of carbon, manganese, chromium and nickel especially chromium had great difference with the chemical wet method when the stainless steel standard sample ZBGS003 was used as standardization sample for the determination of strip surfacing deposited metal. After establishing the type standardization curve with the self-made strip surfacing deposited metal, the determination results were basically consistent with those obtained by the chemical wet analysis method.
