Determination of oxygen,nitrogen and hydrogen in 12Cr 2 Mo 1 R weld metal by inert gas fusion infrared absorption and thermal conductivity method

Abstract:The effect of preparation method of 12Cr2Mo1R weld metal, the analytical power and flux on the determination of oxygen, nitrogen and hydrogen was discussed. The simultaneous determination method of oxygen, nitrogen and hydrogen in 12Cr2Mo1R weld metal by inert gas fusion-infrared absorption and thermal conductivity method was established. The results showed that oxygen, nitrogen and hydrogen could be directly determined without addition of flux under the following conditions: the sample was prepared by spark source wire cutting combined with turning in presence of cooling liquid; the analytical power was 4 500 W. The detection limit of oxygen, nitrogen and hydrogen was 0.000 082 2%, 0.000 648% and 0.000 047 7%, and the low limit of determination was 0.000 274%, 0.002 16% and 0.000 159%, respectively. The proposed method was applied for the determination of actual sample of 12Cr2Mo1R weld metal produced in Lanzhou Lanshi Group Co., Ltd. The relative standard deviations (RSD, n=5) was 0.9%-4.8%,0.9%-5.4% and 4.0%-6.2% for oxygen, nitrogen and hydrogen, respectively. The recovery test was conducted by adding standard steel sample into actual sample. The recovery was 99%-105%, 98%-102% and 91%-94%, respectively.
