Abstract:The size distribution of MnS inclusion in casting block of heavy rail steel was processed by original position statistic distribution analysis method.The MnS inclusion size distribution curve was established by the statistics acquired with ASPEX scanning electron microscope-energy disperse spectroscopy(SEM-EDS),the MnS inclusions with the size of 5-10 μm,10-20 μm,20-50 μm were analyzed,respectively.The results of the samples for the test have shown that the MnS inclusions with the size of 5-10 μm were existed in the casting block all the time,however,the ratio of MnS inclusions with the size of 10-20 μm and 20-50 μm have reduced from the interior to edge,until the terminal of the casting block,the large inclusions were almost disappeared.The results by original position statistic distribution analysis method were compared with ASPEX SEM-EDS,both of them on the tendency of inclusion distribution were coincident,which illustrated the method of reacting inclusion distribution was reliable.
