Abstract:The original position statistic distribution analysis for continuous casting slab of 72A tire cord steel was performed by original position analyzer for metal in order to better understand the element segregation, porosity and inclusion distribution law in casting slab. The elemental distribution law of C, Si, Mn, P, S and Al in casting slab was discussed. It was found that the obvious segregation of C, Si, Mn and P existed in center of casting slab. Moreover, the degree of segregation in central region was more serious than that in edge. The distribution law of Mn content was similar to that of C. The obvious negative segregation of C and Mn was observed near edge of casting slab, while the obvious positive segregation existed in central region. On the whole, the composition distribution of Mn was more uniform than C. The composition distribution of several elements was compared. It was found that the distribution of Si was relatively uniform, while the distribution of P was not uniform. The elements of Al and S basically existed in the form of inclusions. The distribution law of these two elements was very similar, and the content of inclusions in center was higher than that in edge. The apparent density of casting slab decreased due to the obvious shrinkage cavity in center. The value of apparent density was 0.869 0.
