Abstract:The ferrovanadium was broken to different particle sizes or for different time using crusher with various grinding tanks for sample preparation. The content of vanadium, characteristic element of grinding tank material and oxygen in sample was detected. The change of content was calculated. It was found that the abrasive powders of grinding tanks and oxygen in air were the main reason to cause lower content of vanadium. According to the property of crusher, the sample preparation equipment and the control points of sample particles were selected. The experiments showed that the sample splitting K value of preparation method was 0.02. The vibration crusher with powerful grinding ability and good wear-resistance of grinding tank material was selected to break the sample,and the particle size and grinding time of sample were strictly controlled to reduce pollution. The original sample was crushed to -10 mm with jaw crusher. After uniformly mixing, at least 2.0 kg of sample was used for splitting. Then, it was crushed to -5 mm with jaw crusher, and at least 0.5 kg of sample was used for splitting. It was vibrated and crushed to -1.0 mm within certain period. After uniformly mixing, at least 50 g of sample was used for splitting. Finally, the sample was crushed to -0.250 mm within certain period for analysis. The sample preparation precision (vanadium content, βD) of non-friable FeV50 and FeV80 by experimental method was 0.23 and 0.31, respectively. The sample determination precision (βM) was 0.18 and 0.19, respectively. The preparation time for 6 kg sample was about 14 min.
