Abstract:A simple, rapid and reliable method for the simultaneous determination of tin, lead and iron in zinc-aluminum alloy was proposed. The sample was dissolved with nitric acid. Then, the content of tin, lead and iron was determined by inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometry (ICP-AES) in 1% (volume fraction) nitric acid medium using Sn 189.989 nm, Pb 220.353 nm and Fe 259.940 nm as analysis lines. The detection limit for tin, lead and iron was 0.02 μg/mL. 0.03 μg/mL and 0.002 μg/mL, respectively. The recoveries of standard addition were 100% for tin and 110% for lead and iron. The proposed method was applied to the determination of tin, lead and iron in zinc-aluminum alloy. The found results were consistent with those obtained by national standard method. The relative standard deviation (RSD) was 0.0%, 3.0% and 6.4%, respectively.
