Abstract:In order to enable related staffs engaged in emission spectrometer, verification/calibration to understand JJG768-2005 Emission Spectrometer Verification Regulation and to appropriately verify/calibrate emission spectrometers, the problems during the verification/calibration process of emission spectrometer, including wavelength calibration, detection limit, selection of test elements, calculation of uncertainty, assessment of indication deviation, selection of reference materials and meaning of verification/calibration, were discussed. According to the characteristics of instrument and requirements of practical test, it was proposed that, the significance of verification/calibration lies in supervision and service; the verification/calibration results depend on the wavelength correction manner of instrument; the detection limit of instrument verification/calibration is more of a qualitative concept; the significance of indication accuracy as well as indication deviation of emission spectrometer must be assessed. The selection principles and methods were provided for element used in the verification and reference materials used in the calibration during verification/calibration of emission spectrometer.
