Comparison on the spectral interference correction in the determination of high content aluminum and copper in casting zinc alloy by inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometry with matrix matching method and internal standard method

Abstract:The spectral interference correction in the determination of high content aluminum and copper in casting zinc alloy by inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometry (ICP-AES) with matrix matching method and internal standard method was compared from the aspects of accuracy, precision and recovery of the determination of aluminum and copper in casting zinc alloy. The results showed that the relative error of matrix matching method determination of aluminum in casting zinc alloy was less than 0.4%, which was lower than that of internal standard method| the recovery was kept stable between 105%-108%. The relative standard deviation (RSD) of the determination of aluminum and copper by internal standard method was between 0.2%-0.5%, obviously lower than that of matrix matching method. The accuracy, precision and recovery of copper with Sc as internal standard element were comparatively higher, and the determination results of aluminum with Y as internal standard element was better.
