Abstract:Original position statistic distribution analysis technology combined with laser induced breakdown spectrometry was used for the study of component distribution in the cross and longitudinal section of 77B wire rod and the segregation degrees of main elements were quantitatively calculated. The distribution law of different elements in wire rod was discussed combined with its microstructure. It was found that there was serious central segregation in the rod for C, Cr, Mn and Si and the distribution results from the cross section and the longitudinal section are similar. Through the observation of metallographic structure, it could conclude that serious central segregation of C, Cr and Mn was caused by the network carbide concentrated in the center of the rod and the silicon inclusion existed in the tire cord steel also resulted in the inhomogeneous distribution of Si.
