Abstract:The sample was dissolved with hydrofluoric acid and nitric acid, and the solution was dried by infrared lamp. Then, the sample was prepared by fusion method with lithium tetraborate as flux and 1.0 mL of 30 mg/mL LiBr solution as releasing agent. Thus,a method for determination of molybdenum (main element) in molybdenum-aluminum alloy was established by X-ray fluorescence spectrometry. The high-purity aluminum oxide and molybdenum trioxide were fused to prepare the calibration samples for molybdenum-aluminum alloy, which were used to plot the calibration curve. The matrix effect was corrected by theoretical α coefficient method. The determination results were not affected by the thickness of sample with Lα line of Mo as the analytical line. The proposed method was applied to the determination of molybdenum in German certified reference material AlMo65 and internal control sample AlMo65 for production. The results were consistent with the certified values or those obtained by gravimetric method. The relative standard deviation (RSD, n=7) was not more than 0.22 %.
