Abstract:A method for the determination of nine major components of TFe, SiO2, CaO, MgO, Al2O3, MnO, P2O5, TiO2 and 2O5 in high phosphorus slag in steelmaking converter by X-ray fluorescence spectrometry with tabletting sample preparation was described. The influence of sample conservation method on the determination result of calcium oxide was explored. The experiment indicated the conservation of tablet by sealed bag could overcome the lower test result of calcium oxide. By selecting the optimum condition for tablet sample preparation to reduce the analysis result deviation cased by mineral effects and particle size effects and using the empirical coefficient method for the correction of matrix effect, overlap of spectral lines and matrix interference, the analysis of nine major components in real samples could be achieved. The analytical result of proposed method was consistent with that of ICP-AES or chemical analysis method with RSD less than 2%. The method can be used for fast monitoring of chemical composition in steelmaking double slag dephosphorization process.
