Study on the liquidus temperature of Na3AlF6-AlF3-Al2O3-CaF2-KCl aluminum electrolyte

Abstract: The liquidus temperature of electrolyte was measured by the common cooling curve method. The experimental data were quadratic fitted using the method of least squares to obtain the regression equation of liquidus temperature. Meanwhile, the liquidus temperature of Na3AlF6-AlF3-Al2O3-CaF2-KCl system was measured by quadratic regression orthogonal experimental design. The determination results were treated by regression analysis to obtain the regression equation of liquidus temperature. The results indicated that, the liquidus temperature of electrolyte could be reduced by adding potassium chloride. The objective of this paper was to obtain the basic data of liquidus temperature of aluminum electrolyte for the service of improving current efficiency and reducing production cost.
