Abstract:Carbon-manganese alloy ball can not be directly analyzed by routine method for it contains a large amount of carbon. A large amount of sample was ignited, and the percentage of residueafter ignition to the original sample was calculated. A portion of sample after-ignition was accurately weighed, and then manganese and phosphorus content was determined by ammonium ferrous sulphate titration method and phosphomolybdate blue spectrophotometric method, respectively. Finally, the manganese and phosphorus content in original sample was calculated according to the percentage of sample after-ignition. The measurement error due to the inhomogeneity of original sample was proved to be decreased by the established method and thus the accuracy and precision have been greatly improved.
