Abstract:The application of microwave ignition technology in the determination of reduction iron by X-ray fluorescence spectrometry was introduced in the paper. The experiment indicated that the ignition loss of reduction iron sample was almost -30% with relative standard deviation less than 0.15% when microwave ignition technology was used to pre-oxidize reduction iron sample. X-ray fluorescence spectrometry was applied in the determination of reduction iron sample which was pretreated with microwave ignition technology. The results of TFe, SiO2, CaO, P2O5 and Al2O3 were 89.96%, 2.29%, 0.11%, 0.16% and 0.78% respectively, and the relative standard deviation were 0.20%,4.1%, 1.6%, 1.4% and 5.0%, respectively. When TFe content of the reduced iron sample was higher than 80%, the relative error of determination result was within ?0.5%. For other components, the determination results of proposed method were also consistent with those of wet chemical analysis.
