Abstract:According to national standard GB/T4699.4-2008, the content of sulfur in straight carbon steel was determined by high frequency infrared absorption method. The factors influencing the uncertainty of determination results were analyzed, such as weight, temperature, volume, repeatability determination of standard sample and instrumental correction. It could be found that the uncertainty of determination results was mainly from the sample weighing, preparation of standard solution, fitting of calibration curve, resolution ratio of instrument and repeatability of determination. According to the evaluation procedures of uncertainty, each uncertainty component was calculated and combined to obtain expanded uncertainty, which provided theoretical basis for the accuracy of determination.
