Abstract:A new coloring reagent 4-(4-chlorobenzenediazo)-amino-4′-chloroazobenzene (CDACAB) was synthesized and its coloring reaction with nickel ( Ⅱ) was studied. The results showed that this reagent could form a stable red complex with Ni ( Ⅱ) in Na2B4O7-NaOH buffer medium at pH 10.0 in the presence of Triton X-100. The maximum absorption wavelength was 538 nm, and the apparent molar absorptivity was ε=1.58×10.5 L●mol-1●cm-1. The Beer's law was obeyed for mass fraction of nickel ( Ⅱ) in the range of 0-0.7 μg/mL. After adding masking reagent, this method could be applied to the direct determination of micro nickel in aluminum alloy. The results were consistent with the certified values, and the relative standard deviation was 1.6 %-2.5 %.
