Abstract:The bibliometrics analysis of paper information on top journals can reveal the research progress and development trend in this discipline. Metallurgical Analysis is an important journal in the field of metallurgical analysis in China. The bibliometrics analysis of indexes, including the impact factors, bibliographic data and key words, was performed to explore the research progress and development trend of metallurgical analysis in China. Total 6 569 research papers were published in Metallurgical Analysis from 1981 to 2020. The analysis results of authors showed that the journal had a large number of authors. The author with largest published amount was CHENG Yong from Pangang Group Research Institute Co., Ltd. The selection conditions of core authors were those authors who published four or more papers in Metallurgical Analysis as the first authors or solo author. There were 303 core authors, and their stability was good. The analysis results of institution of authors showed that they were mainly concentrated in universities and research institutions, while the participation of enterprises was relatively little. The regional distribution of authors was wide and unbalanced. The proportion of papers with support of foundation was relatively low. The knowledge mapping results of key words showed that the research emphasis of Metallurgical Analysis included: (1) Methods, which were mainly focused in spectrophotometry in the early stage, and then gradually changed to inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometry (ICP-AES), X-ray fluorescence spectrometry (XRF) and flame atomic absorption spectrometry (FAAS); (2) Sample pretreatment techniques, which were focused on microwave digestion and fusion sample preparation; (3) Testing parameters, which were focused on copper, iron, lead, nickel and zinc. The analysis results of highly cited papers indicated that XRF was paid much attention in analytical methods, while the ores were of greatest concern in testing objectives.
