During the analysis of Ag, B and Sn in geochemical samples by traditional arc emission spectrometry, the spectral phase plates are usually selected as the recording medium. Due to the low sensitivity of phase plate and narrow linear range of spectral lines, the precision and accuracy of measurement results are poor in manual spectrum translation. As a result, in the matching scheme of geochemical survey sample analysis, the arc emission spectrometry is only used to determine Ag, Sn and B, which are hardly analyzed by other methods. The full spectrum AC-DC arc emission spectrometry was employed in experiments. K2S2O7-NaF-Al2O3-carbon powder was selected as the buffer reagent, and Ge was selected as the internal standard. The exposure time was 45 s. Moreover, the the instrumental correction was conducted. The synthetic silicate standard series for spectral analysis (GSES I-1-GSES I-9) were used to draw the calibration curves. Nine elements in geochemical survey samples including Ag, B, Sn, Mo, Pb, Co, Ni, V and Bi were directly determined. The limits of detection were listed as follows: Ag 0.014μg/g, B 0.68μg/g, Sn 0.12μg/g, Mo 0.18μg/g, Pb 0.98μg/g, Co 0.32μg/g, Ni 1.79μg/g, V 1.51μg/g and Bi 0.05μg/g. The proposed method was applied for the determination of Ag, B, Sn, Mo, Pb, Co, Ni, V and Bi in six standard geochemical samples. The relative standard deviations (RSD, n=12) of determination results were less than 10%. The logarithmic errors (ΔlgC) between measurement values and standard values were between 0 and 0.057 (absolute value). The contents of Ag, B, Sn, Mo, Pb, Co, Ni, V and Bi in eight soil samples were determined according to experimental method and other methods (Ag, B and Sn were determined by arc emission spectrometry; Bi, Mo and Co were determined by inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry; V, Ni and Pb were determined by X-ray fluorescence spectrometry), and the results were consistent.
