Discussion on the compatibility of type standardized samples of wire rod with different specifications in analysis of spark discharge atomic emission spectrometry

Abstract:Spark discharge atomic emission spectrometry was widely used in the daily inspection of wire rods in the practical production and application. However, since there were many kinds of wire rods, the type standardization of each brand and each specification would not only influence the analysis efficiency, but also increase the analysis cost. Four types of standardized samples (hereinafter referred to as type standard) of ϕ6.60 mm, ϕ5.42 mm, ϕ4.22 mm and ϕ3.02 mm were used to analyze 14 different specifications of wire to be tested for small size wire rods. The precision and accuracy were verified according to the standard requirements. The feasibility study of merging the class standard of spark discharge atomic emission spectrometry by diameter was conducted. The results showed that: the type standard of ϕ6.60 mm could meet the requirements of accurate analysis of ϕ5.82 mm-ϕ7.40 mm samples; the type standard of ϕ5.42 mm could meet the requirements of accurate analysis of ϕ5.02 mm-ϕ5.82 mm samples; the type standard of ϕ4.22 mm could meet the requirements of accurate analysis of ϕ4.22 mm-ϕ4.60 mm samples; for the wire rod samples below ϕ4.22 mm, the type standardization of corresponding specification should be performed.
