Abstract:Three analytical methods including barium sulfate gravimetry, EDTA titrimetry and infrared absorption were used to determine the
solid-phase conversion rate of rare earth in a novel technology of rare earth manufactured by ammonium hydrogen carbonate solid-
phase conversion from rare earth sulphate roasted ore. The experimental results indicated that the solid-phase conversion rate of
rare earth obtained by determining carbon content in converted crude rare earth carbonate by infrared absorption method could
truly reflect the state of solid-phase conversion of rare earth and could meet the requirements of new technology for
manufacturing rare earth by ammonium bicarbonate solid-phase conversion.
