Abstract:A new reagent 1,3-di-[(4-nitrobenzenediazoa)]benzenetriazene (DNBDBT) was synthesized, and its colour reaction with HgⅡ was studied in the presence of Triton X-100.The results showed that HgⅡ reacts with DNBDBT to form a stable red complex in a medium of Na2B4O7-NaOH buffer solution at pH 10.0.The apparent molar absorptivity was 1.15×105 L·mol-1·cm-1 at the maximum absorption of 564 nm. Beers law was obeyed in the concentration range of 0-0.6 μg/mL for HgⅡ.It has been applied to the direct determination of HgⅡ in waste water with RSD of 1.3%-2.0% and recovery of 98%-103%.
