Abstract:Two quantitative mathematical models in the original position statistic distribution analysis (OPA) for analysis of aluminum inclusions content were studied and applied to the determination of aluminum inclusions content in several steel spectral certified reference material and medium- and low-alloy steel actual samples. The application scope and conditions of the two quantitative mathematical models were explored. It was found that the particle size and distribution of the aluminum inclusions had a significant impact on the application of the two quantitative models, and when the total aluminum content of the sample was less than 0.2%, the selected quantitative models for the calculation of the aluminum inclusions content could achieve satisfactory results and consistent with the acid-insoluble aluminum value obtained by subtraction method of the wet chemical analysis.
