Application of Minitab statistical software in quality control of chemical inspection laboratory

Abstract： The use of Minitab statistical software could import the data from analytical instrument and Excel or directly input the data. By setting related parameters and selecting the control chart type according to the requirements of users, various quality control charts could be directly plotted. In this paper, the Shewhart control charts were briefly introduced. On the basis of chemical testing laboratory data, the quality control charts were plotted using Minitab and Excel separately and then compared. It was found that, 3 h was required for Excel to plot control charts, while only 15 min for Minitab. Minitab was easily operated. The quality control was easier and simple. Therefore, Minitab was worthy to be popularized.
