Abstract:The influence of outerinner crucible and standard crucible on the analysis of nitrogen in steel has been reviewed from the aspect of melting state,heating current and releasing peak in this paper. We found that under the same analysis power ,the current and the temperature of the outerinner crucible were both lower, but the sample melting is better in the outerinner crucible, and the nitrogen peak was also very smooth. Two certified reference materials(CRM) are analyzed by using these two different types of crucibles,and the analysis precision of outerinner crucible was better than that of the single standard crucible’s. Although, the temperature of the outerinner crucible is lower, it is helpful to improve the nitrogen’s analysis precision, as long as the sample is totally melted.
