Abstract：Cost effective XRF solutions for the analysis of slags in iron and steel is presented. Analysis of slags is critical to control blast furnace or steel making furnace along with other analyses. Thanks to significant developments in X-ray optics and instrument design, we have achieved high sensitivity and reliability to meet the process control requirements in the metals industry. Simple, compact and cost effective WDXRF solutions are now possible for routine analysis in iron and steel industry. This presentation will cover the technical details of the instrument, application data related to slags and simple automation solutions for on-line operation.
