Abstract: A sensor dedicated to the process control of steel production was introduced. Continuous measurement of composition and temperature in blast furnace(BF) runners was conducted by using LIBS. The scope of this sensor is to measure on-line in the BF runners. The content of silicon, manganese and carbon during two castings was monitored. The results were satisfactory.
