Abstract:A direct determination of chlorine ion in zinc indium electrolyte by chlorine ion selective electrode was proposed. The selection and dosage of ionic strength adjustor, the influences of solution acidity, concentration of zinc sulfate and indium, and other existing ions were discussed. The results showed that, the chlorine ion content in zinc indium electrolyte could be directly and rapidly determined by chlorine ion selective electrode using glacial acetic acid and potassium nitrate as ionic strength adjustor in sulfuric acid medium. Moreover, when the concentration of indium ion was below 0.04 μg/mL, the zinc sulfate (<0.15 g/mL) did not interfere in the determination. Other impurity elements in sample also had no obvious interference in the determination. The proposed method was applied to the determination of chlorine ion in zinc indium electrolyte sample. The relative standard deviation (RSD) was smaller than 6.0 %, and the determination results were consistent with those obtained by turbidimetry.
