Abstract:The determination of vanadium, titanium, aluminium, magnesium and manganese in vanadium-titanium-iron concentrate by inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometry (ICP-AES) was proposed. In this method, the anhydrous sodium carbonate and sodium tetraborate were used as flux. The sample was firstly melted at 1 000 ℃ for 15-20 min. Then, the fusant was leached with 10 % HCl (volume fraction). The vanadium, titanium, aluminium, magnesium and manganese in leachate were determined by ICP-AES. The type and concentration of acid for sample leaching were tested, and 10 % HCl (volume fraction) was finally selected. The spectral lines of five elements were investigated. The spectral lines with high sensitivity, no or low matrix interference were used as analytical lines. The matrix interference was eliminated by matrix matching method in preparation of calibration curve. The standard samples (GBW07227 and BH0101) were determined for 10 times by the proposed method. The accuracy and precision of determination results were both good, and the relative standard deviations (RSD, n=10) were 0.59 %-4.8 %. Moreover, this method was applied to the determination of 10 samples in production materials. The results were consistent with those obtained by chemical analysis.
